The Bridge Sports Complex will award $50 gift cards to the top ten scorers in the Jerry West Youth Basketball League challenges on Friday, June 3rd.
[Bridgeport, WV] May 26, 2022 – Basketball fans get ready: the GameChanger Tailgate Extravaganza will host Jerry West Youth Basketball League challenges for which the top ten highest scorers will earn $50 gift cards to Dick’s Sporting Goods. Both challenges will begin at 5:00 PM and continue throughout the event. Jerry West Youth Basketball League’s mission is to provide a safe, fun, and wholesome combination of recreation and competition basketball to boys and girls grades2nd-12th through practices, regular season games, and end of season tournaments.
The first challenge is a modified 3-point contest in which players will shoot from three spots, aiming to make as many consecutive shots as possible while rotating through different areas on the court. The top five shooters will receive $50 Dick’s Sporting Goods gift cards.
A half-court shot contest with youth modifications will also take place at the Tailgate. The first five participants to make the half-court shot will receive a $50 gift card. Children 12 and under will shoot on a modified half-court.
The contests are the latest addition to the Tailgate’s lineup of activities. Registration for the cornhole tournament, which requires pre-registration online, closes Wednesday, June . The event will begin at 5:00 PM and conclude with fireworks around 9:15 PM. In addition to random giveaways from local businesses, attendees of the event will also have the opportunity to “meet & greet” WV football players, receive free food, and participate in fun games and tournaments. Former NFL player Ryan Leaf will attend as keynote speaker.
