The Bridge Sports Complex Announces Winter 2022 Program Options Including Mountain State Storm Club Sports

The Bridge Sports Complex’s new club team, Mountain State Storm, is among the new additions to The Bridge’s traditional programming options, scheduled to begin the week of January 16th.

[Bridgeport, WV] December 16, 2021 – The Bridge Sports Complex has released its full schedule of winter 2022 programming. Community feedback for summer and fall programming have been overwhelmingly positive, and The Bridge is excited for another season of fun and recreation. Beginning in January, this season’s offerings include expanded adult leagues, the return of Lil’ Trolls in a multisport format, new club teams, and continued swim lessons.

Sports Manager Chase Robey is proud of how far programming has come in such a short time. “We’re in our third season of programming and we’ve already had enormous community feedback that has allowed us to refine and expand our programs. I am most excited for our growing club program, Mountain State Storm, and continuing our early childhood Lil’ Trolls classes.”

Physical activity should begin at a young age for positive results across the lifespan:

·      Regular activity in children 3-5 years old can improve bone health and help them maintain a healthy weight as they grow

·      Children 5 and up should spend 60 minutes a day engaging in physical activity

·      Adolescents who play sports are eight times more likely to be physically active at age 24 than those who do not play sports

For early childhood, The Bridge will offer Lil’ Trolls Multisport and swim lessons. The Lil’ Trolls program, which is developed and run by a licensed early childhood educator, includes turf-based sports in a weekly45-minute class. Swim lessons will continue this winter as well.

Youth programming this winter primarily involves club team sports and specialty training classes for young athletes who want to play competitively. The Bridge is excited to host former collegiate and professional soccer players as instructors for the Soccer Skills League for athletes ages 6– 10.

Adult program options have expanded to include group swim lessons, though private swim lessons are still available to those who prefer individualized instruction. Adult recreational sport leagues will begin the week of January 16thand include men’s basketball, men’s soccer, coed volleyball, and women’s basketball.

Registration is now open. Aquatics programming registration becomes available Monday, December 20th.
